Lot of bang for the buckStrengths: Low cost, large size Weakness: Slow. Sometimes locks up when using descreening at maximum resolution (300 dpi) on full platen (this gives huge file size). Using old parallel port model new in 2000 for $120. Bundled software OK but lite, I use latest Photoshop and Omnipage. Reliable, does good job. A very satisfactory scanner.

Mustek A3 USB Flatbed ScannerStrengths: LOW PRICE -- an A3 scanner for around $150! Good software. Large size. Weakness: No buttons or on/off switch on scanner, not super-fast. My old scanner, a Visioneer, crapped out on me, necessitating a replacement. Even while I had the old scanner working, I had always wished I had a large-bed scanner for certain legal documents and large format artwork that I created and sold. For around $150, the Mustek is a bargain. The next step up in A3 scanners is a model that goes for around $250, and after that you are near $1000 on up....

Mustek A3 USB Flatbed ScannerStrengths: Low cost, large size. Weakness: No buttons on the scanner itself. A "scan" button or on/off switch would be nice. It's a good deal among same size scanners. It scans well and is easy to use. It makes oversize scans a snap. There's plenty of room!

Mustek A3 USB Flatbed ScannerStrengths: Cheap & versatile Weakness: Cheap Incredible price for an A3 scanner - look at the price of the competition. Not the fastest scanner out there but look again at the price. We run a "paperless office" with everything scanned to disk, be lost without this tool. Recommended.

Mustek ScanExpress A3 Flatbed Scanner
Strengths: It can scan up to A3 big size paper, cheap, easy operation.
Weakness: Resolution is not high enough, a little slow.
A cheap and big size scanner is not easy to find in today's market but this is the one to compromise both. Although a little slow and the resolution is not very high, it's good enough for home use.
