Microtek Lab ScanMaker 9800XL Flatbed ScannerStrengths: Large scanning bed, versatle, three connection ports, inexpensive Weakness: A bit slow, not recommended for 35mm slides I bought two of these Microtek scanners on a recommendation from a friend, a fellow dentist. I have been looking around for a large bed scanner with sufficient resolution to handle my dental x-rays until a colleague of mine turned me on to the 9800XL TMA. The scanner comes with a built in top light that takes the x-ray and scans it with remarkable depth.
